Not exactly random, unless you consider seeing a giant statue of Ms. Liberty made completely out of jelly beans, random. It is however, quite a statement on the state of our country. Look closely - Nothing more 'Merican than Starbucks, sugar, hot chicks, sugar, fat people (you might not see them, but they're there), sugar, guitars, and of course, Mmmmmore, sugar.

AMER!CA FUCK YEAH

Part of why I created this blog, beyond art and a means to gripe, is to promote and sustain the concepts of Free Speech and Liberty. As many things as we do wrong in this country, I would like to think we can still do some things right. Like bringing manufacturing back home, stopping entering wars we can't win (although retaliation to threats on our freedom can sometimes be overlooked), and upholding principles that every American believes in - not just the 1%. With that in mind, I would like to introduce the "Random Acts of 'MER!CA" series. This first installment was taken on a trail by my house on a beautiful bike ride this afternoon. FUCK YEAH -enjoy! Mmmmm Ga$oline !

Q: Why did Texaco leave Equador?

A: Because they polluted the shit out of it.

A show on NHK or RGT T.V. or some other weird fucking hotel channel, had a very interesting story the other night. It said that cancer rates in Equador for an area that Texaco polluted were 147% higher than areas where Texaco wasn't (the rest of the country). 147% fuck that
Texaco spokes people claim there is no proven correlation between their waste and cancer. Really?! They did however let the native people keep farming the area. Good for them. The picture above shows what happened to their farms. Appalingly, Texaco also tried to make the locals believe the oil was actually good for their skin, because shampoo contains oil. Then they showed them a bottle of shampoo and said "see". The proof is in the details. Talk about smooth talkin'. To be fair - surprise, surprise - the government of Equador is also partially to blame. They really had no regulations in place to govern this practice of oil dumping. And, they wanted money.
In March, an Equadorean judge ruled for the plaintiffs, a group of concerned Equadoreans, in a suit that was filed. Texaco/Chevron could face around $18 billion in damages.
